THOMAS  HERRMANN werd in Karlsruhe geboren. Op 6-jarige leeftijd kreeg hij zijn eerste pianolessen. Later kreeg hij les bij Marton Keönch aan de universiteit van Paderborn, waar bleek dat hij een bijzonder talent heeft. Op 17 jarige leeftijd maakte Thomas Herrmann zijn debuut met het orkest van de universiteit van Paderborn in het 1e pianoconcert van L. v. Beethoven.
Daarna studeerde hij in Darmstadt bij Prof. Grigory Gruzman en in Detmold bij Prof. Anatol Ugorsky. vertrok Thomas Herrmann naar Nederland en voltooide zijn opleiding bij Naum Grubert aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, waar hij zijn diploma met summa cum laude haalde.

Thomas gaf al meer dan concerten in ons land (Concertgebouw van Amsterdam), België, Duitsland (Mozart-Saal Alte Oper Frankfurt), Zwitserland, Frankrijk, Marokko, Zuid-Afrika en China.
Zijn Nederlandse debuut deed hij met het Erasmus Trio in april als prijswinnaar van het Charles Hennen Concours op uitnodiging van de AVRO in de Spiegelzaal van het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Hij speelde op belangrijke festivals zoals het Chopinfestival te Bergen, het Russische Kamermuziekfestival te Gent en het Gergiev-Festival te Rotterdam.

Ook solistisch treedt hij regelmatig op met verschillende orkesten o.a. Bessunger Kammerorchester, Holland Symfonia en
